We had a great turnout for our first meeting of the semester Thursday. Thank you to everyone that showed up and is excited to make this a great year for the pre-vet club!
Before I get into the details of what we covered in the meeting, if you would like to be a part of the club but was unable to come to the first meeting to please send me an email with your name, major and year. Now, to recap Thursday. Our meeting was brief, but we covered a lot in a short amount of time. There were a lot of good ideas for club activities, guest speakers and topics to cover at meetings throughout the year. Some topics we discussed included, but were not limited to:
Speaking of meetings. I plan to have regular meetings 1-2 times monthly to start. If things go well, and there's more interest we can review getting together more often. In the future, club meetings will be held on Wednesdays at 6:30pm, location TBD. I also announced my willingness to meet with anyone wanting a little more input on classes, as I am aware advising for next semester is beginning soon. I know from experience, it can be helpful talking with upper class men about class schedules, good classes to take together, ones to take different semesters, and fun electives. If you are at all interested, please send me an email and we can find a time to meet. Finally, I want to remind everyone that the director of admissions for the Washington State School of Veterinary Medicine will be visiting on October 3rd. She will be giving a presentation on applying to vet school and meeting one-on-one with students. More information on this will come, but please keep that B in your bonnet. Keep an eye out later this week for more information regarding the next meeting and other important Pre-Vet club updates!
